What’s Coming Up at Asia’s Largest Photography and Imaging Exhibition, from April 4-7 at Coex, Seoul

Visitors to P&I 2013 can experience a wealth of products, technologies, goods and galleries spanning across the global photo and imaging market and culture

The 22nd Photo and Imaging Seoul is to incorporate the very latest in global digital and analogue photography trends, alongside a host of supplementary events and experience-based learning workshops, from April 4-7 2013 at Coex. Photo & Imaging, and the concurrent Seoul Photo exhibition, will showcase products and galleries from all corners of the global photography industry in an event boasting over 650 booths and countless top brands.

The show will also include a host of innovative international exhibitors aiming to expand their business into the Korean market.

San Francisco’s Academy of Art University, the largest private school of art and design in the US, is just one of the overseas participants at this years’ show. The AAU offers a range of degree programs in 21 areas of study including Animation, Art History, Fashion, Photography, and Web Design. Visitors to P&I 2013 will learn about the school’s faculty of top professionals, state-of-the-art facilities, and course options on offer.

Hong-Kong based Lap Shun has a thirty year history in the manufacture and design of top-quality camera and video bags. ISO 4001 certified and with a mission to create products in harmony with the environment, Lap Shun will showcase its exciting collection of camera, phone and computer bags, cases, wallets and accessories at P&I 2013.

Noov Design was born out of the desire to create original products in line with contemporary market trends. Whether in its range of camera bags, straps, lense pouches, compact pouches, and cases, or IT-themed products such laptop and smartphone cases, the Noov Design team’s attention to detail has resulted in an eye-catching and function range of products, available for visitors at P&I 2013.

Pixel Enterprise Limited, will showcase a variety of top-of-the-range DSLR camera gadgets and technologies, developed by some of the industry’s leading designers and engineers, while Spider Holster will reveal its unique DSLR carrying system – a fuss and hands-free ergonomic solution to camera carrying – at the show.

Yong Nuo from China will also exhibit over ten years of expertise in the development and retail of professional photographic equipment, through a range of camera accessories, flash lights, and remote controls.

Both beginners and professionals are urged to come and check out Photo & Imaging 2013, as it offers something for everyone interested in photography, whether as a hobby or a career. Over 300 brands will participate in the show, including annual participators Samsung, Nikon, Canon and Olympus, as well as service providers Saeki P&C and Fuji Film Korea. Photo and Imaging will cover the entire spectrum of the industry, from filming, development and printing, to digital broadcasting and editing software and equipment, 3D technologies, storage devices, and studio apparatus. February 22^nd 2013, SEOUL, KOREA – Photo & Imaging Seoul 2013 will showcase 300 brands from 18 countries around the world when it opens its doors from April 4th – 7th at Coex. Five exclusive concurrent photography-focused events are expected to attract an estimated 90,000 domestic and international participants in what is Asia’s largest and most developed exhibition of its kind.

Photo & Imaging Seoul has built a 24 year reputation for showcasing the very best in photography & imaging goods. This spring, over 750 booths will showcase everything from cutting-edge compact and DSLR cameras, to bags and newly-released camera accessories, printers, SD cards, editing software, and photo albums. Beginning from 1989, the exhibition has influenced the development of photo and image industry. Also, it is a global exhibition recognized by UFI(The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry for the first time among domestic exhibitions. The place to be to learn the latest trend, technology and accessories about photography and imaging, ’2013 PHOTO & IMAGING 2013′ have come to a close for the year. Since 1989, it is already the 22nd P&I show that was held in Korea. Known as the largest photo and imaging exhibition in Asia, the different major brands of cameras in the industry showcased the best of what they got.

Major brands such as Canon, Nikon, Samsung, and Sony took] advantage of the exposure P&I Show will bring due to the number of visitors and interest. Each brands offered a variety of events to showcase their major product. At this year’s event, the “Smart” cameras was definitely the headliner.

Samsung Electronics showcased the everyday use ‘NX300′ smart camera.

Nx300 features the new hybrid AF for faster and more accurate focusing and APS-C CMOS sensors to enhance the exposure, color, and resolution for more realistic and vivid image reproduction. The 1/6000th of a second shutter speed is able to catch the fast-moving sports and leisure activities clearly.

The “Smart” Nx300 can now carry on an intellectual conversation with other smart devices as well. With Android and iOS apps available, Nx300 is able to link itself to other connected smart devices. With that option, you can auto-share with a connected smart device without the need for cables and using the dual-band wifi, or the cloud system, it is able to transfer the image or videos at that moment. Samsung’s Galaxy smart device welcomes the new Nx300 to its club.

Sony Korea’s NEX-series mirrorless camera have been gaining popularity. From the most basic NEX-5, the specifications enhances as the number goes up. Newly released NEX series provide Wi-Fi features that allows connectivity with smart devices at any time.

Sony adds a little entertainment to its’ smart features. By downloading an App straight to your NEX, thanks to the built-in-Wi-Fi, you are able to retouch photos and directly post on Facebook or Instagram without a cable.

The Nikon D7100 that was showcased at the show adds a little different intelligence to the smart line ups. Besides from its’ premium superior capturing power delivered by high-density 51-point AF system, 24.1 megapixels and the sharp depiction performance of NIKKOR lenses, the remote shooting capability with smart devices deserves an A for convenience. By attaching the optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter, communication via wireless LAN between the camera and a smart device is possible. The photographer can have the function of a remote shooting from a distance using a smart device and view them right away. After the images are transmitted, people can do what they love the most, upload it on their favorite SNS.

Now the full-frame DSLR Canon EOS 6D that has been recently released gives other smart devices a chase for Valedictorian award. The specs of 20.2 megapixel sensor, ISO 100-25600, 1080p video recording and 4.5 FPS burst mode is the standard yet strong features EOS Canons. Now with the WiFi and GPS built-in, these features can be utilized through the smart devices. Similar to Wi-Fi function of the Nikon D7100, the Canon EOS 60D can be functioned with your smart device from a distance. Highly convenient and useful for photographers that need to be in a distance or don’t want any reflection of themselves getting in the way. No need for photographers to buy a separate remote control because you already purchased that in your local cellular phone store.

It’s obvious where the current trend is with the Series of cameras that’s being launched by the major brands at the 2013 Photo and Imaging Show. The path toward the ‘smart’ world is inevitable for all devices. Before the colony of Smart Phones take over all the industry, camera industry needs to start hitting the books and raise up their intelligence. Of course, it must not lose its original purpose, to capture that beautiful frame.
